I earned my BA in psychology from The University of Minnesota in 2003. Following graduation, I worked at an adolescent shelter in St. Paul supporting teens who were separated from their families.
In 2004, I moved to Boston and attended Boston College graduating with an MA in Mental Health Counseling in 2006. During this time, I interned in an inpatient setting providing individual and group counseling for hospitalized children and teens. After graduating, I worked for a non-profit in the greater Boston area providing home-based counseling to a diverse clientele.
After moving west to Colorado in 2008, I worked for North Range Behavioral Health in Greeley, gaining experience working in children's residential care, home-based family therapy, outpatient adolescent and family therapy and school-based adolescent therapy. I earned my CACII (Certified Addiction Counselor - Level 2) and was trained in FFT (Functional Family Therapy) while working at NRBH as well. I have conducted mental health and substance abuse groups for teens, written court reports and attended court hearings and collaborated with schools, caseworkers, doctors, probation officers, etc.
